CroquetWest Meon & Warnford Sports Club (WM&WSC) is a thriving organisation run by enthusiastic locals for the benefit of the village. With more than 150 members, WM&WSC gives people access to a range of sporting activities – regardless of their ability.

WM&WSC caters for people of all ages helping to make sport enjoyable and fun. And with a keen focus on nurturing juniors, WM&WSC offers a range of opportunities for young people to participate and excel in football, cricket, hockey and tennis. Most village sports clubs offer a few basic sports and changing facilities – but WM&WSC isn’t like ‘most’ clubs. We were the first sports club in the UK to become a registered charity and have worked hard to provide a range of sporting opportunities for all sorts of people in our community.

Other Facilities

The annual Hockey Club Dinner at the Pavilion
WM&WSC has a fine pavilion set on the recreation ground at West Meon. As the hub of the club, it provides facilities used by football, cricket, hockey and tennis sections and it has a fully licensed bar. The recreation ground also has a basketball hoop and backboard, children’s play equipment including swings and a slide, plus acres of space to play and run around. The pavilion can be hired for a variety of social functions. It has a well-equipped kitchen, heating, showers and spacious changing facilities. Bar facilities can be hired to members. The pavilion can accommodate up to 50 people with hire rates from £6 per hour. Items can be hired for outside functions at the Sports Ground or at other locations - two barbeques, chafing dishes, crockery, cutlery, glassware and tables.  Details of hiring can be obtained from Louise Copsey Tel: 01730 829376

Annual Sports Club Functions

The Club also holds a variety of social functions throughout the year which have proved really popular. A spring Quiz Night and summer barbeque are always well-attended, as are the “foody” theme nights that are a sell-out. The Club runs an Open Day biennially where villagers can get a taste of what’s on offer. While the annual awards night in the autumn is a time to celebrate the achievements of the Club, the different sections, and the sportsmen and women who have done so much over the past year. Details of all events are advertised in the Parish News. Social membership is available for an annual subscription of £5 for adults and £1 for juniors. We look forward to seeing you.
