Season  2009/2010

First Match of the Season – Basingstoke 2

Following three weeks of intensive training we faired well against a sometimes strong Basingstoke side.  We welcomed two new players to the team, Iona Kenyon and another member of the Fawcett family, Wendy.  Back in the side after a season away was Gayle Tiplady, a welcome return to centre half, holding the team together in midfield.  After consistent pressure on the Basingstoke goal in the first half West Meon were rewarded by a goal from Gabby Berry, but a Basingstoke goal followed before half time following a melee in the D.  Iona beat the keeper in the second half for her debut goal watched by her father on the side line.  Unfortunately West Meon began to tire before the end and conceded a late goal ending the match 2-2.  A good start to the season with good organisation from skipper Karyn Tiplady.  The new rules still need some practice for the side and we are hopeful that we will get the hang of them by Christmas!

Fixtures

In 2008 make a big difference to the quality of your life and join our organised and friendly events at different established quality courses.

Each day will typically include coffee & bacon rolls, range balls, use of practice facilities,

18 holes of golf followed by a light meal & presentations.
